A digital environment to teach and learn the Risorgimento

Fare l’Italia, fare gli italiani: il processo di unificazione nazionale is a digital environment in which the Risorgimento is rebuilt as a long process, from the Napoleonic age to the construction of the national state, in the international context of the 19th century. The text for the secondary school is based on a repertoire of written, iconographic and musical sources, makes use of glossary, chronologies and historical maps specially elaborated and is structured in modules: on the characters and subsequent stages of the unitary path, on the relevant themes: international scenario, Romanticism, war, women, social classes, and for teacher guide. A short version, in two modules, is dedicated to primary school. The digital environment defines a modular and flexible text: the materials can be broken down and reassembled according to different interpretations and to develop paths suitable for different school levels, the cooperative work of groups and the needs of single students.
