Abstract

Taking the recent changes introduced in the Italian Constitution as a starting point, which for the first time have included the environmental protection in our fundamental Charter, the essay aims to offer an analytical perspective on environmental education. We’ll try to answer two questions: what does environmental citizenship mean today and how is this type of citizenship built in relation to the new constitutional provision, keeping together the conservation of the environment, its resources and sustainable development thanks to environmental education.
