The use of elicitation in history teaching

Elicitation is a language teaching method that can be used also by other academic subjects. Elicitation consists in gathering information from students that after are organized by the teacher. This paper analyzes four variations of elicitation using four illustrative applications: one with guided questions and one without, one with the teacher in class and one without, combined with each other. The aim of the paper is to evaluates strengths and weaknesses of the elicitation in a history class.
