Abstract

Archival studies are part of the historian's job, but often the results of archival research remain segregated in the university environment and almost never reach a wider audience. From this premise born the story teaching project, which falls within the macro area of public history, concerning the archival sources analyzed and the creation of educational workshops for elementary, middle and high schools. The aim is to address a specific research topic, the concept of family present in some documents of the diocesan archive of Modena-Nonantola. The work continues by analyzing 11th century documents, documents concerning the Tridentine council and to Napoleonic ones. Educational workshops have been developed that deal with the concept of family from the Middle Ages until the dawn of the contemporary age.
