Abstract

The contribution focuses on the educational and didactic project which involved 4-year-old children of the Yellow class of the Ludovico Calza nursery school, in Medicina, during the 2014-2015 school year. For years, the Comprehensive State School of Medicina has been proposing a vertical project called "My country and I", which considers as its main objective the knowledge of the territory and the collaboration with the local educational agencies for the promotion of a sense of identity, of belonging within a community and for the protection of the cultural and environmental assets present. The starting point of our project is the historical re-enactment of the emperor Barbarossa who, intertwining history and legend, continues to raise emotions and to feed the curiosity and imagination of the little ones. This medieval festival, gathering the whole community, provides us with the opportunity to talk about the castle, a magical, fascinating and mysterious place, present in many fairy tales, which offers many ideas to work on.
