From the visible to the invisible: the two faces of Istanbul. An analysis of Turkish educational heritage

The article aims to examine the evolution of the Turkish education system, highlighting parallels with political transformations. From Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's reforms that initiated the modernisation and secularisation of the country, to the ministerial changes introduced under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership, which contributed to a re-Islamisation of the education system. The article reports on the analysis carried out in the field, aimed at highlighting the relationship between education and the political and cultural dynamics of the country, highlighting the social differences that persist even at the institutional level.
